ICAT holds Seminar on “Improvement of Automotive Road Safety and Vehicle Fire Incidents”

The International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) organized a Seminar on “Improvement of Automotive Road Safety and Vehicle Fire Incidents” on Tuesday at ICAT Centre-2, Manesar, Haryana.

The seminar was inaugurated in the presence of Smt, Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary to Government of Odisha, Shri Balraj Bhanot, Former Director of ARAI and Chairman of TED-28, Mr. C V Raman, Chief Technical Officer, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., Shri Rama Shankar Pandey, Chief Executive Officer, Tata Green Batteries and Shri Saurabh Dalela, Director, ICAT.

Director of ICAT, Mr. Saurabh Dalela, in his inaugural address, apprised the audience on the present road safety issues and emphasized ICAT’s readiness to support stakeholders in the field of road accident research and study.

This seminar had presence of eminent experts who shared their vast knowledge and experience in the areas of advancement in Crash Analysis methodologies, injury biomechanics, crash forgiving road and transportation engineering, hardship faced by stakeholders, perspective of the law enforcing agencies, vehicle fire investigation methodology etc.

The event also included a panel discussion on “Indian perspective on automotive safety and role of OEMs for improvement” involving senior officials from Government, Industry leaders from Automotive OEMs and road safety experts from media.

The event participants were eminent personalities from Government Authorities, industry leaders from Automotive OEMs, Automotive Safety Component Manufacturers, experts from Vehicle Fire Investigating Forensic Labs, Trauma Centres, NGOs, Insurance Industry, Academia and distinguished participant representing Crash Investigators, Road Safety Consultants / Auditors, Road Engineers, etc.
