EKA Mobility to supply 1,000 e-buses to GreenCell Mobility

Mumbai: EKA Mobility, a leading electric vehicles & technology company has inked an MoU with GreenCell Mobility, a leading player in the electric mass mobility space. As per the understanding, EKA Mobility will supply GreenCell Mobility with 1,000 intercity e-buses in 12-metre and 13.5-metre categories, in the coming few years.

Dr Sudhir Mehta, Founder & Chairman of EKA Mobility, highlighted the strategic significance of the partnership, stating, ‘Our collaboration with GreenCell Mobility is strategically positioned to usher in a cleaner, more sustainable future through electric mass transportation. By combining our expertise, we hope to set new standards in the commercial electric mobility, contributing considerably to the nation’s sustainability objectives.’

The initiative is expected to yield substantial environmental benefits, with estimated annual fuel cost savings of INR 70 crore and the avoidance of 120 lakh gallons of diesel, equivalent to growing 15 lakh trees. The initiative is anticipated to positively impact around 6 lakh individuals daily, fostering a more sustainable and efficient public transit infrastructure. Overall, it is projected to contribute to the reduction of 32400 tonnes of CO2 emissions, aligning with global and national sustainability goals and marking a significant leap toward a cleaner, more sustainable future.
