International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Korea Automotive Technology Institute (KATECH) to support pneumatic tyre testing.
With this MoU, ICAT aligns with its commitment towards providing its services globally by supporting overseas automotive component manufacturers.
Pamela Tikku, Officiating-Director, ICAT said, “We look forward to a long term productive business relationship with KATECH. We envisage more collaboration with KATECH beyond Indian certification. We would like to collaborate with KATECH for research oriented projects in the field of emerging automotive technologies.”
Apart from Indian certification, as per various Automotive Industry Standards (AIS), ICAT will collaborate with KATECH, Korea in the field of future technologies e.g. sustainable & connected transportation, ADAS among others.
Youn Jongsik, Vice President, KATECH said, “After signing MoU with ICAT, both the organizations will be able to provide services of certification as well as research & development to their customers around the world.”
KATECH (Korea Automotive Technology Institute) was established based on ‘Industrial technology innovation & promotion law’ under the authority of the ministry of knowledge and economy in 1990. The mission of the institute is to support the regional auto part industry, especially small & medium enterprise, to secure sustainable growth by offering R&D support, reliability assessment test as well as technical information and human resources development.
