Jaipur: EKA Mobility, a leading electric vehicle and technology company, in partnership with Chartered Speed, has secured a significant Letter of Award (LOA) for the deployment of 675 electric buses across Rajasthan. The award, granted under the Pradhan Mantri e-Bus Sewa Scheme, marks a major milestone in the state’s efforts to modernize its public transport infrastructure and reduce vehicular emissions.
The deployment will cover eight key cities—Jaipur, Kota, Udaipur, Ajmer, Alwar, Bikaner, Bhilwara, and Jodhpur—with a fleet comprising 565 nine-meter (9m) and 110 twelve-meter (12m) fully electric buses. These buses are designed to provide clean, efficient, and modern mobility solutions, supporting Rajasthan’s commitment to combating air pollution and lowering fossil fuel dependency.
The LOA follows the recent issuance of the Letter of Confirmation of Quantity (LOCQ) for electric buses by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), as part of a larger national initiative to boost electric public transport across India.
“This win reinforces our belief that electric mobility is not just the future—it’s the present,” said Rohit Srivastava, Business Head & Chief Growth Officer at EKA Mobility. “Rajasthan’s bold move toward electrification aligns perfectly with our vision of transforming the way millions commute daily and accelerating India’s transition to a cleaner, more sustainable future.”
Sanyam Gandhi, Whole-Time Director at Chartered Speed, emphasized the project’s role in shaping urban transportation. “This reflects our commitment to a greener, more efficient transport network. Through the PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme, we’re transitioning to an electric fleet that will transform urban mobility. Our goal is to lead the shift to a low-carbon future and offer commuters cleaner, smarter travel options shaping a more connected and sustainable India.”
This development comes on the heels of EKA Mobility securing two major contracts from the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC), valued at approximately ₹150 crore, and an order worth around ₹400 crore from the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC). These projects significantly strengthen EKA’s footprint in India’s growing electric mobility sector.
The Rajasthan order represents another step forward in the country’s e-mobility journey, reaffirming the government’s and private sector’s shared focus on zero-emission, future-ready public transport solutions.
