Mobec targets $13B lithium battery recycling industry with strategic partnership model

Staff Writer
New Delhi: In a decisive move to support India’s Net Zero mission and address the growing demand for energy storage recycling solutions, Mobec Innovation — India’s first full-range provider of customisable B2B mobile EV charging and energy storage solutions — today announced a transformative shift in its expansion strategy. The company will now pursue a strategic partnership model aimed at revolutionising lithium battery recycling across the country.

Through this collaborative and scalable approach, Mobec aims to establish a comprehensive framework for setting up and operating advanced lithium battery recycling facilities. The initiative seeks to minimise environmental impact and maximise resource recovery, especially of critical rare metals.
As part of this new strategy, Mobec announced its first strategic partner in Greater Noida, a key industrial hub, marking the launch of its pan-India drive.

“The surge in lithium-ion battery use presents both an opportunity and a challenge,” said Harry Bajaj, Founder and CEO of Mobec Innovation. “Our strategic partnership model offers a powerful, collaborative approach for organisations looking to capitalise on the burgeoning green economy while making a significant contribution to environmental sustainability. Our first strategic partnership is the beginning of a new era in this $13 billion industry opportunity.”

In the initial phase, Mobec plans to focus on capacity building, ensuring that stakeholder interests remain positive and sustainable — financially as well as environmentally. The model also aims to develop long-term best practices that benefit the broader industry.

Mobec is currently in advanced discussions with several other potential strategic partners in key locations, signalling strong market interest in its sustainable, scalable model.

The company’s recycling focus spans consumer electronics, electric vehicles (EVs), energy storage systems (ESS), and industrial equipment — sectors projected to generate substantial battery waste. Within this strategy, Mobec is prioritising advancements in ESS, lithium battery recycling, and power backup solutions, laying the groundwork for upcoming expansion initiatives that aim to scale plant operations and accelerate India’s circular economy.

The Mobec Advantage

Mobec’s full-stack, in-house team of chemists will drive optimal chemical processes to ensure maximum material recovery with minimal environmental impact. Additionally, its unified inventory management system will allow for efficient tracking and processing of recyclable materials. Combined, these elements offer an unparalleled value proposition to Mobec’s strategic partners.
“Together, we can create a cleaner, greener future for India while building thriving, sustainable businesses,” Bajaj added.
Mobec’s initiative comes at a crucial time as India pushes for sustainability and green innovation amid a global pivot towards electric mobility and renewable energy.
