Bhubaneshwar: Odisha Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik flagged-off JBM ECOLIFE Electric buses here on Saturday at a function in Berhampur. A total of 200 air-conditioned electric buses will operate in the cities of Berhampur, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. This flag-off marks the company’s entry in the eastern region of the country. Currently, over 1500 JBM electric buses are running across 10 states and major airports of India. To facilitate seamless operations of these buses, JBM Auto has deployed end-to-end electric bus ecosystem at the depot which includes power and charging infrastructure.
The newly launched 9 meter JBM ECOLIFE electric bus is a zero emission vehicle (ZEV) that will save around 1000 equivalent tons of carbon dioxide and 420,000 litres of diesel over 10 years of its operation. These buses are powered by fast charging lithium-ion batteries and are equipped with all modern features like Real Time Passenger Information System (PIS), Panic Buttons for emergency, Vehicle Location & Tracking System, CCTV cameras, public address system, stop request buttons, Fire Detection & Suppression System to name a few. The buses are expected to run over 200 Kms per day. For drivers, the ergonomically designed dashboard provides an intuitive and user-friendly system that allows drivers to concentrate on driving without distractions which makes it a truly global product.
