JBM Auto rolls out ECOLIFE 100% electric buses in Haryana

Panipat: Commemorating International Reducing CO2 Emissions Day, Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar has flagged off Haryana’s first tranche of 5 JBM ECOLIFE electric buses at Panipat Bus Depot. Haryana based bus manufacturer, JBM Auto has supplied these 100% electric buses and are the first ever to be deployed in the state. The flag off event was attended by key dignitaries, government officials, and industry leaders.

JBM Auto will supply 375 electric buses under the National Electric Bus Programme in the state of Haryana. To facilitate seamless operations of these buses, JBM Auto has deployed end to end electric bus ecosystem at the depot which includes power and charging infrastructure as well. Further, JBM Auto has recently set up one of the largest electric bus manufacturing plant in Haryana that has the capacity to manufacture 20,000 electric bus per annum.

The newly launched JBM ECOLIFE electric bus, a Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV), manufactured by JBM Auto Ltd. saves around 1000 equivalent tons of carbon dioxide and 420,000 litres of diesel over 10 years of operation. These buses are powered by fast charging lithium-ion batteries and are equipped with all modern features like Real Time Passenger Information System (PIS), Panic Buttons for emergency, Automatic Bus Vehicle Location System, CCTV cameras, public address system, stop request buttons to name a few.

Real Time Passenger Information System keeps the location of the buses updated for the passengers traveling in the bus. Safety features such as CCTV cameras have been installed inside the bus that will aid in the uninterrupted surveillance of activities inside the buses. Passengers can use the stop request button to alert the driver to stop the bus at the upcoming bus stop. JBM ECO-LIFE bus incorporates other utility features such as Vehicle Health Monitoring System, Fire Detection & Alarm System, public address system etc. For drivers, the ergonomically designed driver console provides an intuitive and user-friendly system that allows drivers to concentrate on driving without distractions which makes it a truly global product.

Haryana Transport Department has setup a separate Corporation by the name of “Haryana City Bus Services Ltd.” to manage and operate the City Bus Service in the cities of Panchkula, Ambala, Sonepat, Rewari, Yamuna Nagar, Karnal, Panipat, Rohtak and Hisar. After a global tender done under the National Electric Bus Programme by CESL, order was placed for 375, 12 metre electric AC buses which will be used for these operations.

With this roll out JBM Auto has joined Haryana’s mission to embrace green and sustainable public mobility solutions. The organisation has committed itself towards supporting the state’s alignment with the global efforts to combat climate change.
